What is CBD oil & how does it work?
Cannabidiol or CBD is the active compound found in Hemp plants that work in conjunction with the Human Endocannabinoid System. CBD and other cannabinoids found within the hemp plant play a vital role in creating the balance among the many operating systems in our bodies.
Isolate, Full Spectrum, Whole Plant... What does it all mean?
It's a matter of refinement. We use Full Plant Body Extracts (also called the Whole Plant) hemp oil in our tinctures because we believe the closest to the actual plant that we can maintain, the easier for the body to receive. Full Spectrum is a further refinement that strips the oil of any remaining chlorophyll, plant matter and terpenes leaving a full cannabinoid profile of approximately 90% purity. Isolate is as it says, an isolated compound of one cannabinoid. The most common isolate is just CBD but we believe the other such as CBG, CBN, and the many others are just as important and are meant to remain together.
What's the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
Both Hemp and Marijuana are the same plant and in great thanks to the Farm Bill of 2018, the designation of hemp is based on the very low levels of THC found in the plant at harvest. As long as you produce a plant that is below .3% THC you are producing compliant hemp in the United States.
Hemp vs. Marijuana Derived Cannabinoids: Are they the same thing?
Absolutely. Once isolated, cannabinoids of any derivation are the same compounds so CBD from a cannabis plant is the same CBD from a hemp plant.
Is a standard hemp seed oil the same as a CBD hemp extract?
No. Standard hemp seed oil is derived from the hemp seeds which have incredible nutritional benefits but do not benefit from the same concentration of cannabinoids as those extracted from the plant.
Where do you source your hemp and CBD from?
We work exclusively with a small family-owned farm and extraction facility in central Oregon that produces high quality organically grown hemp and extracts.
What type of extraction method do you employ?
We use both CO2 and Medical food-grade ethanol extraction depending on the finish we need for product formulation.
CO2 vs. Ethanol, Which is better?
In our opinion, extractors' choice. As long as care, responsibility and proper operating standards and practices are employed, the final product will always be a clean and safe product to be used as intended.
